EVENT/RETREAT AGREEMENT, HEALTH DISCLAIMER & PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES

For Breathwork, Sound, Movement, Cacao Ceremony, Ritual, and Shamanic Journeying

Please read this agreement carefully. By joining the event/retreat, you confirm that you understand and agree to the following terms. These guidelines ensure that the space remains safe, grounded, and respectful for everyone.

1. Health & Medical Responsibility

This event/retreat offers practices that may affect your physical, emotional, and energetic state. By attending, you acknowledge:

• You are responsible for your own wellbeing before, during, and after the retreat.
• Our practices are not a substitute for medical or psychological care.
• If you live with any condition that may influence your ability to participate safely, you have consulted a healthcare professional in advance.
• You agree to inform the facilitator of any relevant health history that could affect your participation.
• The facilitator may offer alternative practices or suggest that certain exercises are not suitable for you at this time.
• You understand that you participate at your own risk and release the facilitator, assistants, and venue from any liability.
Breathwork can influence oxygen and carbon dioxide levels, which may temporarily create tingling, temperature shifts, emotional release, or lightness in the head. These sensations are normal and usually settle naturally.

Contraindications
Breathwork: If you are pregnant, have cardiovascular issues, unmanaged mental health conditions, epilepsy, recent surgery, very high or low blood pressure, or any condition affected by intense breath patterns, please consult your healthcare provider before attending.

Cacao Contraindications: Use caution if taking SSRIs/MAOIs, blood thinners, or stimulant medications. You’re welcome to skip cacao while fully participating in the rest of the ceremony.

2. Touch Consent (In Person)

• Supportive, gentle touch may be offered to help grounding or emotional regulation.

• Touch is always optional, always consensual, and always respectful.

• You can decline or withdraw consent at any time.

3. Before the Session

To support your body and nervous system:

• Avoid alcohol and recreational substances for 24 hours beforehand.
• Ideally avoid caffeine on the day of breathwork.
• Eat lightly, and don’t eat for at least 3 hours before deep breathing practices.
• Wear comfortable clothing and bring water.

4. Confidentiality & Group Safety

• Everything shared during the event/retreat stays within the group.
• You may share your own experience afterwards, but never someone else’s.
• If referring to another participant, please do so anonymously.
• Confidentiality will only be broken if there is concern for immediate harm or safety.

5. Presence & Devices

• Please give yourself permission to arrive fully and be present with the experience.
• Phones remain off or in airplane mode unless previously agreed.
• Presence supports your journey and honours the group.

6. Sharing & Expression

• Share from your own experience, not from analysis or interpretation of others.
• You are always welcome to pass if you prefer not to speak.
• All emotions and expressions are welcome when held with awareness.

7. Respect for Individual Journeys

• Everyone processes differently — all expressions are valid.
• If judgement or discomfort arises, meet it with curiosity rather than acting from it.
• This space is not for debate, correction, or persuasion.

8. Consent, Boundaries & Choice

• Your body’s yes and your body’s no are equally important.
• You may adjust, pause, or step outside at any time.
• In partner or group practices, check in with yourself first.
• Your boundaries will always be respected.

9. Self-Responsibility

• Take care of your body and nervous system throughout the retreat.
• Drink water, rest, move or take space whenever needed.
• Everything offered is an invitation, never an obligation.

10. Photography & Recording Notice

• Occasional photos or short videos may be taken for future promotional use.
• If you prefer not to appear in any images, please let us know before the retreat begins so we can fully honour your preference.
• Your privacy will always be respected.

11. Personal Responsibility & Release

By attending, you acknowledge that:

• You participate voluntarily and at your own risk.
• You are responsible for your physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing.
• You release the facilitator, assistants, and venue from any claims or liability connected to your participation.
• You understand that the facilitator may recommend pausing or adjusting your participation if needed for safety.

12. Agreement

By registering, I confirm that:

• I have read and understood this agreement in full.
• I take full responsibility for my health and wellbeing.
• I will honour the confidentiality, boundaries, and agreements of this event/retreat.
• I choose to participate voluntarily and am free to pause at any moment.
